Married Google chief executive Eric Schmidt has forced his mistress to remove her personal blog from the web, according to reports.

Former Forbes journalist Kate Bohner's blog about her recovery from alcohol and drug addiction has been disabled after legal threats from Schmidt, reports.

Schmidt reportedly split with Bohner last year.

In the blog, called "Recovery Girl 007", the 42-year-old dubbed Schmidt "Dr Strangelove" and mentioned him giving her a prototype iPhone.

Gawker first reported on the blog, which was hosted on Google's Blogger, last Friday. The blog has since been taken offline.

The media news website cited unnamed sources as saying the website was taken down under pressure from Schmidt's lawyers.

"When a billionaire threatens you, you get in line," a source was quoted as saying.

Schmidt, who is worth $5 billion, was reportedly only mentioned a few times in the lengthy blog and was portrayed in a positive light.

The 54-year-old CEO has been linked to other women in the past and he is believed to be either separated or in an open relationship with his wife Wendy.

Bohner, who lives in Florida, is reportedly planning on writing a book about her life and struggle with addiction.
