New iPhone gets microwave test

Apple’s latest edition of the iPhone, the new iPhone 5, has broken retail records around the world, but one over-zealous customer has put the smartphone to the ultimate test.

It may have more the most advanced smartphone on the market at present, but can it survive a grilling in the microwave?

The result, as expected, was not pretty.

The phone's first rollout is in nine countries, with Apple planning to sell it out in 100 countries by the end of the year.

Compared to the iPhone 4S, Apple's new smartphone boasts a bigger screen, stronger battery and faster connection to the latest 4G networks.
