Seven out of 10 Kiwis are keeping an eye out for a new job, according to a survey by employment website Seek.
Job applications registered on the site from January to March increased by 90,000 compared with the same period last year.
Seek’s general manager Janet Faulding says the increase is driven by a number of Kiwis who have reported dissatisfaction with their current role.
“Our Seek Satisfaction and Motivation survey identified a large number of New Zealanders - seven out of 10 - are keeping an eye out for their next employment opportunity in 2011,” she says.
According to the survey results the absence of pay rises, increased tasks and responsibilities in roles and a general feeling of being unappreciated are the main drivers for seeking new employment opportunities.
Jobs reached a 12 month high in March, with over 17,500 roles advertised on Seek.co.nz.
However, the number of applications grew at a faster rate than jobs.
