Forbes has named the top 100 most powerful women for 2012, with the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel taking out the hot spot for the second year in a row. Merkel is the country's first female Chancellor (equivalent to prime minstership for other countries), and is regarded as the de facto leader of the EU.
