With 10 November the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, MSN NZ looked back to bring you the story of one of history's most significant demolition jobs.
The Berlin Wall had been the symbol of the Cold War in Europe for more than 30 years. Constructed in 1961 it divided Berlin into two parts: the East and the West - and not only Berlin: Germany and the whole world was divided into two enemy camps.
First, only official borders were opened by the German Democratic Republic (GDR). In the days and weeks following 10 November 1989, the Fall of the Wall became real, as people started to destroy parts of it and crossing the border was possible in more and more places.
