Ultrabooks. Driven by Intel, PC makers are expected to roll out 20-40 versions of the new super thin notebooks at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012. Designed to compete with the Apple MacBook Air, ultrabooks are thin, portable and energy efficient. They generally use flash storage rather than hard drives, and feature rapid boot up. Pricing will start in the $US800 to $US1,000 range, but quickly scale down from there.
